The base is constructed with natural palm leaf and purple trim. The basket features a purple and green flower design with the letter 'f' woven in green onto bottom. Curator Story This basket was purchased by June from a woman carrying oranges in it on her head in a double layer configuration. The woman was eventually persuaded to part with the basket after being offered money. This is a great example of a highly decorative, intricate and well designed object that is still being used in everyday life. It just goes to show that aesthetics can matter!
