Red Mess Dress Waistcoat.
'V' open neck front type - pointed at bottom, flat at back. Buckle 'Paris' type and waist straps at back. Scarlet barathea on front - red cloth lining on back. Edged all around collar, leading edge and front bottom by 1.3cm wide gold lace -* outline of bullet hole braid bordering this lace still shows. White cotton lining.
2 slit pockets bordered by row of gold bullet hole braid either side, at ends crows 'feet' in gilt. Row of gilt balls on left leading edge - hook and eye up to bottom of 'V'. Lace possibly Royal Artillery pattern but not positively identified.
