JACKET; Origin unknown or what unit? Fits none of the British lancers from badge or button, perhaps an Indian unit.
Red mess Jacket [KB7] has somewhat the same pattern lace with label 'Capt. J. Peters".
Back sleeve seam and coat seam piped red - 2 toggles gold on back skirt. Dark/blue barathea cloth - pointed front and back on skirts, edged bottom, front and collar all around by 1.9cm gold lace [unknown pattern?]
Lining; white cotton. Rows of ball on front - hook and eye to collar.
Collar; stand up - 1.9cm lace on top, at bottom 9mm gold gimp braid. 5.4cm high.
Cuff; extreme pointed cuff - red piping - 15.7cm to top of point, 5.8cm to bottom of lace. Cuff folded back, 2 buttons. Edged with gold lace on side.
Shoulder cords: gold lace pattern - [1900 Regs] 3 stars [metal embroidery] - Captains had 3 stars after 1902.
Unidentified buttons; 2 small gilt buttons on shoulder cords, 2 on each cuff, on back "Ernan & Co, London,and King Edward crown?

WAISTCOAT; Closed vest type - squared back, pointed front - row of balls on front - hook and eye latch up to collar - top of collar and front and bottom edged with 1.9cm wide gold lace. 2 slit pockets highly decorated - see drawings and photos.
Red barathea on front, at back pink/orange cloth backing, waist straps and buckles.
On label; Hawkes & Co, 14 Piccadilly. Capt. J. Peters 350.
Lining; white
Collar; contiguous with body - laced at top, bullet hole braiding underneath, black dog collar.
