Pill Box Cap, black with a gold trim. Victorian Field Artillery.
Blue/black felt edged at bottom 43cm high. [Royal Artillery Pattern - Plate 8 - 1900 Regs.-Lace pattern 65 [Plate 78]]
Black leather thin chinstrap. Crimson satin padded lining. Bude[?] leather sweatband. On top gold netted button - 3 rows of continuous gold braid - 16 large and small gold braid loops. on front - gilt exploding grenade measuring 3.05cm in front.
