Red Mess Dress Waistcoat.
Red barathea - Hook and Eye up to collar type belonging originally to Mr. R.J. Ballinger. Pointed in front and squared at back. Brass Buckle 'Paris Solide' and waist straps. Edged in front and leading edges and top of collar and front bottom by gold lace - perhaps Royal Artillery Pattern.
Backing of red satin - badly torn. Row of gilt balls up left leading edge. Hook and eye arrangement up to collar. Lining of white linen cloth.
Collar; Squared collar - continguous with coat body - edged top and front by gold lace.
2 slit pockets edged with gold braid - crows feet on either side in middle and at each end
