Worn by Militia Officers 1903-1912. Probably worn by Col. JR Bellenger, Vict. Field Army.Embroidered army pattern badge 'Victoria'.
Red over blue/black felt. Piped gold braid on top of red and top of blue. Thin black leather chinstrap. On front, 2 yellow metal buttons 'Crown over gun'. On left side gold metal embroidered exploding grenade, underneath on red satin scroll, 'Victoria' in gold metal braid. Scroll trimmed gold braid. Inside black leather lining, black felt thin sweatband. on size label '6 3/4'. Badge is 6 cm long.
