ONE DRESS TUNIC (JACKET), Pinjarra Mounted Volunteers

See 1900 regs - Plate 18 - Full dress Tunic for Captain of Hussars.
Red tunic with silver lacing and braid. Rounded skirts in front edged with silver braiding on front and bottom of tunic. 5 rows of braiding and toggles on the front. [1900 regs has 6]. Collar has 1/2inch lace top - Russia braid at bottom - lace silver of unknown pattern.
Cream facings - bullet hole braid onlight yellow star and crown embroidered. Braided Austrian knot on cuff - highly decorated with bullet hole braid. Sboulder cords if twisted braid - 2 strands and small button [ no detail of button available].
Pre 1880 - Ranking for Captain - crown and star on collar.
Repeat description when in Conservation in1985.
Scarlet facecloth; waist seam with centre back vent; high collar covered with silver braid, a crown and star on each side. silver braid frogging forming 5 button loops for braided toggle buttons; silver braid marking back seams and all edges; cuffs trimmed with white facecloth enclosed in elaborate silver braid decorations. On display in Old Gaol 1976-1984, partly conserved.
