Western Australian Museum program

9.30am – 10.30am
Walk through Katta Djinoong Gallery with the Museums’ Anthropology Department Registrar, Brett Nannup.  This walk through will focus on special objects that are in the gallery, giving a curatorial and collections care insight to the work of the WA Museum. Bookings are essential, reserve your spot for this talk.

2.30pm – 3.30pm
Special preview of Kaarla Kaatijin by Yirra Yaakin and the WA Museum.
Kaarla Kaatijin (which in Noongar means ‘to understand fire’) is the first story in a trilogy of productions centred around Noongar language and culture. The story follows the plight of the birds and animals of the land suffering an endless, icy winter. Together they undertake a dangerous and brave mission to catch ‘Kaarla’ (fire) and bring it back to warm the land once more. This enchanting WA story celebrates local culture and heritage in a refreshingly youthful and vibrant way. For more details, please call (08) 9202 1966.

Free entry for both events.
Bookings are only required for the floor talk.
