Menagerie – Contemporary Indigenous SculptureTemporary Exhibition | Updated 1 decade ago Aherre (Kangaroos) by Johnny Young Photo from the Australian Museum Menagerie is a sculptural exhibition featuring contemporary works by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander’s from every State and Territory in the country. Thirty three artists have created representations of animals informed by the creator’s connections to ancestors, family, ceremony and the animals found in the Australian landscape. Featured artists include Badger Bates, Yvonne Koolmatrio, Craig Koomeeta, Dennis Nona, Garth Lena and Janine McAullay Bott.
