Stainless steel sculpture of a goanna perched on some decaying timber

The Western Australian Museum – Albany is proud to present local artists in their new pop-up gallery.

Join us from 20 April to 3 May to see the works of local artist Lance Reid.

Since the 1990s Lance’s ingenious creations have been welded combinations of any metal he can get his hands on. He successfully adds humour and playfulness to all his recycled steel pieces. Manufacturing, engineering and invention are lifelong skills, which he now applies to working with stainless steel,'' the metal of the modern world'', so unexplored as a sculpture medium. With knowledge, passion, great imagination and the technical application he translates stainless steel into works of sculpture that will out last a life time.
