REPTILES AND FROGS OF TARIN ROCK AND NORTH TARIN ROCK RESERVES

Introduction: Reptiles and frogs were collected on these reserves between 16-29 May 1971 by L.A. Smith et al., and between 22 September and 4 October 1972 by A. Chapman and J. Dell Specimens were collected by shooting with 0.22 calibre dust shot, examining burrows,digging pit traps and searching hollow logs, leaf litter and other debris. Most frogs and some of the geckos were collected by torchlight at night. These techniques were applied in major vegetation and physiographic types (see Muir; this publication).
