Fishes of Ashmore Reef and Cartier IslandWA Museum Records and Supplements | Updated 9 years agoAbstract: A preliminary list of fishes contains 569 species in 226 genera and 74 families, including 12 new records for Anstralia. The fauna is similar to that of other outer shelf reefs such as Rowley Shoals, Scott, and Seringapatam, but has a stronger Indonesian element. The overall composition is typical ofcoral reefs throughout the tropical ludo-Pacific region. Author(s) G.R.
