A stylised portrait of C.Y. O’Connor

Presented by Ms Diana Frylink
Education Officer, National Trust of Australia (WA)

Thousands of Western Australians have grown up believing CY O’Connor killed himself because his pipeline failed. The National Trust’s Golden Pipeline enthusiast Diana Frylinck will give a free illustrated talk on the myth associated with the death of the engineering genius and theories surrounding it.

The Golden Pipeline Heritage Trail celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2013, the water supply scheme’s 110th anniversary. To help Western Australians better understand this award winning industrial heritage project, which runs from the Perth Hills to Kalgoorlie, the National Trust is offering free talks to communities and visiting schools in conjunction with the Water Corporation.
