WA Maritime Museum

On Saturday 27 August 2011, the Western Australian Museum - Maritime will be open to the public with gold coin donation to celebrate maritime day.

The Celebrate Maritime Day expo at B Shed on Saturday 27 August will feature tours on HMAS Newcastle, one of the Royal Australian Navy’s Adelaide Class guided missile frigates, at nearby C Berth.

Visitors can also:

• learn more about ships and shipping
• get information about education and careers in the maritime industry
• take a free harbour boat ride
• inspect a tug
• see hydrographers digitally map the seabed.
• sample great food for a gold coin donation to Fremantle Hospital
• celebrate WA’s great maritime heritage
