On Ya Bike!

Get on your bike and head to the Museum these school holidays for some two wheeled treats and feats!

Start with a visit to the Bike Central, a place of activity, discovery and lots of fun for children and their families.

* Two wheel trivia -  a fun test of your knowledge about all bicycles.
* My dream bike -   give your imagination free wheel as you build your own dream bike on the felt board
* Totally  “Zoobed” ! – use this fantastic creative building system to snap, click and pop together your own models.

Creating Cartoons

Join Michelle Warren to learn to draw cartoons just like the ones you see in the paper every day. Creating Cartoons will reveal how cartoonists make their illustrations look so real but so funny.

AGES: 10 – 15 years
COST: $15 per child
WHEN: Tuesday and Thursday 1:00pm – 3:00pm, 11 – 22 July 2011

All children 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The Puzzle Trail

Join the girls for a proper morning tea in the parlour. Then enjoy explore the Museum and find the activities we have put together for you. Build a truck using recycled materials. Solve the puzzles and help Dennis the Fire Engine put out the fire.

AGES: 4 – 12 years
COST: $5 for puzzle book, $6.50 for puzzle book and morning tea

Fun in the parlour

Step back in time and discover what it would have been like to live in a grand house in the early 1900s. Join us for morning tea in the parlour, the best room in the house. Be sure to be on your best behaviour! Learn to sew and make your own bookmark to take home. We even have ‘pinnies’ you can borrow to help you get into character.

Treasure of the Golden Dragon

Come find the trail of the treasure and take a pirate’s share in the loot, your very own Piece of Eight coin to take home and a treasure chest to decorate. Under the Sea

Discover the secret worlds under the sea at the Museum. Get crafty with sea creature stamps and fabric paint to decorate your Under the Sea beach bag. Make your own Neptune’s Playground collage using coloured art sand and mosaic mini-stones. Play around with the toys, stories and more in the Under the Sea play zone.

Dinosaur Encounters

Come and see the amazing T-Rex brought to life! This large-scale puppet dinosaur performance creates a truly awesome experience for brave dinosaur fans, brought to you by the creative team from Erth Visual and Physical. Marvel at the wonder of these ancient predators with an animal demonstration of a different kind! Explore the world of Australian dinosaurs with the Museum’s own dino specialist, palaeontologist Dr Mikael Siversson.
