Molecular Systematics Unit

In recent years, applying molecular techniques has become more usual for institutions that are interested in understanding what organisms are, where they live and how they got there. Molecular data can be very powerful, and is a great way of complementing and leveraging more information from existing Museum collections.

The facility officially opened in February 2012 and consists of a range of equipment for low and high throughput analyses. We work with other researchers, consulting agencies, and government services in a range of research and service activities.
