Museum of Geraldton Education

COVID-19

At 12.00pm today, as part of a nationally consistent approach, all cultural and art institutions in Western Australia will close in the interests of public safety in response to COVID-19. This includes art galleries, theatres, museums, and libraries across the State. While the institutions will be closed to the general public, staff at these institutions will continue to work in the buildings.

More Information.

Overlooking the Indian Ocean, the Museum of Geraldton celebrates the rich heritage of the land, sea and people of the Mid West region.

Discover ancient landforms, Yamaji history and culture, and the region’s natural landscapes and marine environment. Find out how more recent European exploration and settlement has developed the Mid West including the agriculture, fishing, mining and science industries.

Groups are welcome to visit the Museum to view the new 3D film ‘From Great Depths: witnessing the wrecks of Sydney II and Kormoran’ and explore the Shipwrecks Gallery and Mid West Gallery at their own pace.

There are booklets and trails available for students from Years 1-9. These resources are aligned with the Australian Curriculum: History and engage students in the region’s natural and social history.

Bookings for the 3D film and self-guided experiences are essential.

Entry by donation. Suggestion of $20 per group.
Booklet or trail cost: $2 per student.
