Get on your bike and head to the Museum these school holidays for some two wheeled treats and feats!

Start with a visit to the Bike Central, a place of activity, discovery and lots of fun for children and their families.

* Two wheel trivia -  a fun test of your knowledge about all bicycles.
* My dream bike -   give your imagination free wheel as you build your own dream bike on the felt board
* Totally  “Zoobed” ! – use this fantastic creative building system to snap, click and pop together your own models.  
* You’re  the Winner!  – wear the highly prized yellow, green and polka dot winner’s jersey !

The Bike Central is open during Museum hours.
No bookings required, all children to be accompanied by an adult and all activities are free.

Bike Badge
Get creative and express the fun, excitement and adventure of riding a bicycle and make your own individual bike badge!

Workshops

Licence to Ride
10:00am, Wed 5 and Wed 12 October

Make your own personalized fun and funky bike licence plate for your bike.
Age: 6+ | Time: ½  hour | Cost: $2 per child

Handle Bar Buddies
10.00am, Thurs 6 and 13 October
1:00pm, Wed 5 October and Wed 12 October

Create your own individual and impressive bike buddies to go on your handle bars. These little quirky critters are full of character and are just the thing to make your bike stand out in the Parade!
Age: 6+ | Time: 1 – 1.5  hour | Cost: $5 per child

Transform Your Bike!
1:00pm, 2:00pm, 3:00pm, Thurs 6 October
Get creative and make spectacular decorations for your bike including flying stars, fluttering flags and spokey dokey clickers. Enter the Sunshine Festival Parade and show your creations to the crowd!
Age: 6+ | Time: 0.5 hr | Cost: $2 per child

Family Bike Workshop.
1:30pm, Sunday 9 October

Follow the easy instructions and learn basic bike maintenance from the experts. The workshop will include different types of bikes, simple bike terms, basic tools, general maintenance and cleaning ,changing basic parts (pedals, grips, tyres, tubes) and will conclude with a question session.                                                                                                                                  
Age:  8 -12 years | Time: 0.5 hour | Cost:  $5

Bike Workshop.
2:15pm, Sunday 9 October

A workshop for the bike enthusiast, including adults and will cover the following : the different types of bikes and sizing of bicycles, full bike terminology, basic tools, bicycle set-up; changing basic parts (pedals, grips, tyres, tubes);  changing other parts (bearings, seats, cranks, handlebars); changing and adjusting gear and brake cables and will conclude with a question session.
Age:  13+ | Time: 1 hour  | Cost:  $10
