Come and explore the art of creative re-use with this fun sculpture workshop using REmida materials (interesting and unique industrial off-cuts that industry thinks is waste!). Using clever techniques, you can make your own fantastic animal sculpture to take home. Make sure you visit the wonderful Menagerie exhibition too!

Puppet Pirates

Arrr PIRATES! - Workshop: Dress and Draw

Arrr! So you think you can draw a pirate?
Work with artist Anthea da Silva as she shows you how to draw pirates and buccaneers in action from real life! Learn some artists’ techniques and have fun creating your own pirate pictures!

Ages: 8+

Please note: All children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when attending programs.

Arrr PIRATES! - Pirates' Contest – a Rogues' Gallery

Draw, paint or collage a portrait of your favourite pirate (factual or fantasy, fierce or friendly) and enter your portrait into the Pirates’ Contest. You could or win a treasure prize and have your entry hung in the Rogues’ Gallery.

Cost: $2 per entry

Pick up an entry forms at the Museum during opening hours from Friday 17 December.

Entry categories:
Category 1: under 8
Category 2: 8 years and over

Winners will be presented with their prizes at the end of January.
