Since the discovery of the Golden Mile in 1893, explorers have been charting the Kalgoorlie-Boulder landscape in the ongoing quest for gold. David Nixon, Senior Exploration Geologist at KCGM, has prospected the archives, museums and libraries of the district re-discovering the lost maps from ‘The Mile’.

Dr. Frankel will be speaking about The Australian Antarctic Program past, present and future, and will give you first hand insights into what it’s like to live and work in one of the coldest places on Earth.

Also, visit some of the historic sites associated with the talks and meet some of the people who maintain them. Tuesday morning lectures start at 10.30am. And this year, by popular demand, two Thursday evening talks (starting 5.30pm) will be conducted each term.
