MEDAL, gold, cricket, CH May, 1903

Flat, oval shaped, curved edged, 15 carat gold medal, with two small raised, flat, male figures wearing cricket pads and holding cricket bats either side of a raised, oval shape engraved with ‘GRI’. Engraved leaf and scroll pattern around top border. Engraved pattern of curved vertical lines along bottom border. Small soldered(?) spot at top. Flat back with thin, cylindrical, pointed metal pin attached to metal tube hinge on right side. Pin secured with metal ‘C’ clasp on back left. ‘PRESENTED BY/BELLS ASBESTOS/TO/W.G.INKSTER/Best all round player/WINDANYA.C.C’ Season 1903.4.’ engraved on back inside curved line border. ‘CHMAY’ and ‘15C’ stamped into back. Small gold ring soldered to bottom at back.
