Medal in box.
[.1] Round, flat, thick gold coloured medal. Raised image of a cow and calf, sheep, and pig, standing on grass with a bouquet of flowers either side, with a pile of farm equipment including sickle and rake in foreground. A circle with rams head inside on bottom left, and a circle with sheep head inside on bottom right. Edge of medal is slightly ridged. ‘Canning Show/1946/Bread & Cake Section/Special Prize/won by/Miss A.O’Connor.’ engraved in centre of reverse. ‘PRESENTED BY/DUNKLINGS THE JEWELLERS’ in raised lettering around border.
[.2] Square, brown, leather covered, wooden box with slightly domed lid and gold decorative border. Metal hinge along back and a small cylindrical metal press button at front connected to a latch inside. Gold coloured decorative inlay of lines with evenly spaced dots inside edge of lid and bottom. Black velvet(?) material with circular indentation for medal inside bottom of box. Small black ribbon fastened to edge of indentation to allow medal to be removed. Inside lid slightly padded and covered with cream, satin(?) material. ‘DUNKLINGS/THE JEWELLERS’ printed in black inside lid.
