SLATE PENCILS, in box, broken

[1] Small, thin, rectangular, white with blue and gold font and detail, box. Top reads ‘EAGLE/ TURQUOISE/ PENCILS/ EAGLE/ PENCIL Co./ LONDON/ MADE/ OF THE/ FINEST/ GRAPHITE’. Text is block font, placed on varying angles across box. ‘MADE/ OF THE/ FINEST/ GRAPHITE’ bordered in gold and blue concentric rectangular border. Bottom reads ‘TURQUOISE /PENCILS/ EAGLE PENCIL Co./ LONDON’, interspersed with broken pencil motif in centre, separated by circular decorative oval, with stylised eagle with pencil in beak motif to right of ‘TURQUOISE’. Label coming loose/ folded over in bottom left corner. Side of box reads ‘EAGLE PENCIL Co./ LONDON.’, separated in half by central box opening. Other side reads ‘No. 1375 MADE IN 14/ DIFFERENT DEGREES.’ Top and bottom sides free of text. Inside: box made of yellowed cardboard, bottom half partially lined with white cover material (where lid comes away from base). Entire box scuffed and marked, text colour coming off in areas, bottom right corner torn. [Box not originally for slate pencils]
[2-15] Various sized, thin, oblong, grey, broken and sharpened slate pencils. Some white discolouration over scratches to pencil body, top ends mostly sharpened for use. [2-4] seem whole, largely unused, remainder have been broken/ worn down with use.
