Flat, 9 carat gold medal, with shield in centre and metal cut out around edges to create a leaf on either side, banner at top, and decorative border at bottom. “MMCG’ engraved in centre of shield. Thin engraved zig-zag border around shield. Engraved detailing on leaf, border, and banner. Small metal ring soldered to top through which a larger ring is attached. ‘Presented to/M.MCGLEW./for/saving the life/of DORIS/at Subiaco./16.10.12’ engraved on back. ‘M(?)’ , ‘R’ and 9CT’ stamped into back.
