Presented by The Hon Professor Carmen Lawrence, Chair Australian Heritage Council and former Premier of Western Australia.

O’Connor’s pipeline was entered onto the National Heritage List in 2011. Judgements are constantly made about what is worth protecting but there is surprisingly little public discussion about what heritage is and why it matters.

In struggles to preserve our heritage, economic goals, in particular, may take precedence. Is this because governments underestimate its importance to our wellbeing, not seeing how we are connected to and influenced by our social and physical environments, our cultural landscape?

Prof. Carmen Lawrence will explore this important topic as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Golden Pipeline project.

Refreshments will be served after the lecture.
Entry: $20, Members/Concessions $15.

Presented in association with the National Trust.
