Carrolup Cultural Tour

Presented by the WA Museum Albany, the Berndt Museum of Anthropology and the Katanning Regional Gallery

The Carrolup child artists were an international sensation of the 1950s art world building the reputation of one of the most significant art schools in Western Australia. As inmates at a remote Aboriginal mission near Katanning, they produced remarkable paintings in their distinct Carrolup style.

Learn from an international art historian how the Carrolup movement is enjoying a 21st-century revival of interest. Walk in their footsteps at Carrolup Mission and breathe in the landscape in the sunset hour that inspired these amazing paintings.
