An epic adventure film based on a true story.

In 1947 the world is gripped with excitement as the young Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl embarks on an astonishing expedition.

His ambition is to demonstrate his theory that the South Sea Islands were settled by ancient South American voyagers from thousands of miles to the east. Despite his inability to swim and fear of water, Thor decides to prove his theory possible by sailing the voyage himself...a perilous journey of 4,300 nautical miles across the Pacific Ocean on board the raft Kon-Tiki.

Winner of four 2013 Norwegian Amanda film awards (Best Actor, Best Production Design, Best Visual Effects, and Public Choice Award) and a 2012 Norwegian International Film Festival Audience Award.
