Fremantle Dragon Boat Festival 2019 Sun 5 May 2019 10:00am – 4:00pm WA Shipwrecks Museum Join the WA Museum as we celebrate the inaugural Fremantle Dragon Boat Race, a free family friendly event on Sunday 5 May. Happening in Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour and led by Dragon Boating WA, the festival will be a spectacular celebration of colour, Chinese culture and world class dragon boat athletes. Festivities commence at 10am with a dragon boat regatta, followed by sprint racing and the crowning of the winning team. Experience cultural performances, with meet and greet opportunities by dragon boat racing personalities and clubs throughout the day. Enjoy free kids dragon craft activities and a free kids trail at the WA Shipwrecks Museum. Take a walk to the WA Maritime Museum to view the photographic exhibition Restricted Entry, a unique glimpse of into the life of early Chinese settlers in WA. At 3pm join a free talk with Restricted Entry exhibition curator Kaylene Poon, in the Maritime Museum NWS Shipping Theatre. Museum entry fees apply to view the 'Restricted Entry' exhibition. All other events and activities are free. The Fremantle Dragon Boat Festival is presented by Nella Fitzgerald Events in association with Dragon Boat Racing WA and Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour Traders Group.
