Make the most of your visit to the WA Shipwrecks Museum with a free tour of our galleries. This tour will introduce you to some iconic objects showcased in the Museum.

Days & Time: Guided tours run daily at 10.30am and 2.30pm

The Commissariat Tour

Join us on a guided tour of the historic Commissariat building to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the WA Shipwrecks Museum.

Western Australia’s first convict-built public building, the Commissariat, was extensively restored in 1979 to house the Museum’s maritime archaeology collection. On this tour you will have a first-hand look at the building's many unique and fascinating historic features in this historical tour.

Days & Time: Fridays, 2.30pm - 3.15pm

Behind the Scenes Tour

The Behind the Scenes tour is currently not available. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Join us for an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the WA Shipwrecks Museum. See and hear first-hand how a number of objects and artefacts are treated and conserved as you are led on a private viewing through maritime archaeology and conservation work areas.

Please note that this tour is not available during the school holiday period.

Days: Saturday and Sunday
Time: 10.30am - 11.30am

Objects and Memories Tour

Join us on a special tour where storytelling with objects encourages conversations and evokes memories.

This is a specialised tour for people living with dementia and their carers.

Our Shared Stories Tour

Explore the nature and impact of interactions between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people from the time of Dutch exploration through to the 1800s. Hear stories about food, trade and the representations of European ships.

Please Touch - Tactile Tour

This tour is designed for visitors who are blind or vision impaired.

Participants have the chance to touch and examine specially selected objects from the Museum's collections and displays.
