The Discovery Zone has new opening hours. They are listed below.

Visit the Western Australian Museum’s new Discovery Zone at the State Library to explore a fun space created especially for the young and curious. Touch and see objects from WA and around the world as you learn about dinosaur trackways, meteorites and our night sky. Reconstruct replica shipwreck artefacts, and compare your body to an elephant’s – inside and out! Inspired by the popular Discovery Centre, the Discovery Zone is a unique space for families to enjoy a Western Australian Museum experience in the heart of the Perth Cultural Centre.

Free entry (special program fees may apply.

Saturday and Sunday, 10am - 4pm

July school holidays at the Discovery Zone will be all about bugs. Come visit us for spot talks and illustration workshops! Further information can be found by visiting the Bugs Galore page.

Saturday July 8 the Discovery Zone will celebrate NAIDOC week with special workshops held by Nyoongar artist, Sharyn Egan. Join us as she teaches you how to create wonderful native animals with straw and wool. Bookings can be made by visiting the Straw Animals event page.
