A conversation with acclaimed Aboriginal author Bruce Pascoe.

Professor Stephen Hopper will engage Bruce Pascoe on key themes from Bruce's award-winning book, Dark Emu: Black Seeds, Agriculture or Accident?. The book provides compelling evidence, often from early explorer diaries, that Aborigines had developed sophisticated systems of governance and sustainable land care that were used peacefully for thousands of years.

Dark Emu is not just a challenge to prevailing myths about the history of Australia, it also presents a compelling vision for what we may yet become.

Bruce will be signing copies of his award-winning book.

Following this discussion will be a panel discussing the concepts and evidence raised. Bruce Pascoe, Kim Courtney, Merridoo Walbidi, Maud Bonshore and Geoff Woodall will be panel guests with Stephen Hopper acting as moderator.

Bruce will also be opening the Museum of the Great Southern's latest exhibition, Yidumduma Bill Harney, Bush Professor, produced by Godinymayin Yijard Rivers Arts & Culture Centre.

Supper and drinks will be provided.

Cost: $38.50
