A medium-large robust frog (to 5 cm). It has a rich dark brown colouration with yellow spots and lighter variegations. The skin on the sides is loose such that the groin is not clearly distinct. Medium webbing on the toes, and breeding males do not have black spines as in the Wheatbelt Frog.

Breeding Biology

Calls and breeds after cyclonic rains in summer and in early winter.

Habitat

Claypans and red soils with Triodia and mulga.

Etymology

fulvus means 'reddish yellow' or 'tawny'.

General

This species has the smallest distribution of any members of its genus.
