Immerse your kids at the Royal Show!

Ever wondered what it’d be like to operate an underwater vehicle, see the underwater JIM suit made famous by the James Bond film ‘For Your Eyes Only’, or Immerse your children after a long day of school holiday fun? Come on down to the Resources Pavilion at the Perth Royal Show and find out!

In partnership with Woodside, the Society for Underwater Technology and Apache, the WA Museum is bringing its one-of-a-kind exhibition Immerse: Exploring the Deep to the Royal Show masses. This is the first time a WA Museum exhibition has been on show at the Show, so it’s a great opportunity to check out the great work of our scientists and curators, and find out what goes on past our vast coastline.

The exhibition has a number of themes including the history of offshore oil and gas production, diving, the use and development of ROVs (remotely operating vehicles), and underwater technology’s role in the search for alternative energy uses.

Immerse: Exploring the Deep will be located in the new Showcasing WA Resources Exhibit pavilion to the left of the Elders Entrance at Gate 1. If you’d like to do a bit of pre-show homework check out http://museum.wa.gov.au/whats-on/immerse-royal-show
