Four men in hard hats and hi-vis vests stand in discussion at the New Museum site.

The foundations are laid and the New Museum is rising up out of the ground!

The project is now officially in construction phase and work is progressing at a rapid speed.

Premier McGowan and Culture and the Arts Minister visited the site of the New Museum to announce the signing of the Stage Two agreement between the State and the Managing Contractor, Multiplex. This milestone means construction is officially under way.

Multiplex and their team are busy building the New Museum, with concrete pads laid, level one being prepared and lots of building materials being delivered onto the site.

The building is expected to be complete in mid-2019 with exhibition fit-out is occurring the following year, ready for opening in 2020.
