MistletoebirdArticle | Updated 2 months ago Mistletoebird (male) WA Museum The Mistletoebirdis found throughout most of Australia and they feed off the berries of mistletoe bushes (hence their name). The also feed on insects, pollen and nectar. Mistletoebird (male) Image copyright WA Museum They are about 10cm in length and the male has a glossy blue black upper body, while his throat breast and under tail is bright red with a wide black streak down centre of belly. The rest of his under parts are greyish white. The female is dark grey above, with a white throat, light grey underparts, and just a touch of pinkish-red under the tail. The Mistletoebird call is an excited "seepa, seepa."
