The Radiated Tortoise is native to the south and south-west of Madagascar, and has been introduced to the nearby islands of Mauritius and Reunion. This beautiful tortoise can grow up to 41 cm in length and a weight of 16 kg.

Radiated tortoises can live up to 50-100 years in the wild and spend their days grazing on grasses, fruit and succulents.

Due to habitat loss, poaching, and the illegal pet trade, radiated tortoises are listed as Critically Endangered.
