Join Hugh Edwards at the hull of the world-famous Batavia as he discusses how these important Dutch wrecks were found throughout the course of Hugh’s life as a diver, journalist, shipwreck finder and prolific author.
 
As co-finder of the Dutch VOC ships Batavia and Zeewijk, Hugh is the author of many best selling shipwreck books and historical accounts of the ‘heady days’ of 1960s shipwreck searching and researching, As character central to the exciting and sometimes controversial events following the discoveries, the WA Museum’s Department of Maritime Archaeology is pleased to host an opportunity for Hugh to speak about his life and times.

This illustrated lecture will showcase superb shipwreck images and exciting stories from one of Western Australia’s foremost archaeological adventurers - an event not to be missed!

Hugh Edwards will be available on the night to sign copies of his newly released book Deadmen’s Silver (Harper Collins 2011).
