BODICE

CH1981.24

Black corded silk lined with tan and blue striped cotton. High collar, 3/4 length sleeves slightly puffed at shoulders. Open at front fastening with 27 glass buttons. Collar fastens with two hooks. Back cut in six boned sections and falls into a short basque. Seams set well back on shoulders. Seven bones in front. (12 bones in total). Applied sections of tucks on both sides at front forming into points at 'V' shaped front of bodice. Similar applied sections at base of sleeves, upper centre front section and base of sleeves decorated with glass beads. Collar and sleeve opening trimmed with narrow section of white lace on cotton. Under arm dress protectors. Band of petersham ribbon attached to inside back of bodice and fastening at front with metal hooks and eyes. Printed on label at back of neck 'J TRAIL & CO FRASERBURGH''. Matches CH81.25 & 26. Fraserburgh is in the Cape, South Africa.
