DRESS, (Bodice and Skirt)

(a) Bodice: Pale grey lightweight wool. Small standing collar of grey glazed cotton. Yoke of pale blue rouched satin, extending into pouch. Front pouched panel edged with cream coloured cotton m/c guipure. Rouching extends over shoulder. Back yoke plain satin. Sleeves gathered into armholes, caught above elbow with 3 rows of decorative stitching, and widen to cuff. Wide, open cuff, with satin and lace trim. Frill of cotton tambour work on net. Back fastening with 13 hooks, lining of grey glazed cotton, set with 10 bones (2 missing). Seams m/c sewn. The rest is handsewn.
(b) Skirt: Matches (a). Set flat onto petersham waist-band, with tightly gathered section at centre back, extending into train. Straight panel centre front. Rest set in gores from frill about knee level with wide section cut on the cross. Front fastening with 8 hooks. Lined with grey glazed cotton. Seams m/c sewn. Hand finished.
