Bodice: Ivory coloured satin. Fitted to fit natural waist with horizontally pleated waist band forming 'U' at front. 2 deep vertical tucks on either side of front opening. Cream silk gauze ruching around neck and down front on either side of slight pouching in gauze. 3 deeper cream satin ribbons and bows on pouching. 2 layers of cream cotton machine-made lace on bodice, the lower layer hanging away from the body. Wide scoop neckline with silk draw-tape. Sleeves: Fitted inner sleeve of gauze with puff of a second gauze layer and lace. Sleeve caught by 2 rows of ribbon and 2 bows. Frill of lace falling above elbow. Lined with cream silk. No centre back seam. Bone at centre back and on either side. Bone at each side seam (one missing), 2 on each side of front and 1 short bone in mid seam of waist band. Petersham band on inside waist. Fastens down front with 8 hooks and 2 on waist band. Machine sewn.
Skirt: Ivory satin. Panel of gathered gauze down front, widening to hem. Ruching on each side of panel and around hem. Panel lined with cream silk, very worn. Skirt straight in front, slightly gathered with about 3 tucks at hips and full at back, pleated into waist bank. Extends into short train. Fastens on front left hand side with 2 hooks at waist and 2 along front panel. Lining silk with 2 deep frills of cotton lace inside hem. Narrow stiffened waist band. Machine sewn.
