White muslin chequered day dress, printed in widely spaced floral pattern in dull purple, black, yellow and brown. Round high neck, piped. Front-fastening bodice, (7 brass hooks). Front has almost pouched effect, achieved by gathering material from yoke effect, with narrow frill, to closely gathered section at waist. Almost fan shaped. Shoulder seam piped. Wide gigot sleeve, with gathered section at shoulder. Waist line piped. Skirt very full, set onto bodice in evenly spaced gathers. Hand-stroked. Open part way down front. Bodice only lined with strong white cotton. Top of sleeves supported by piece of stiffened cotton. (See documentation).
