Child's dress (about 6 y.o.); made of white cotton muslin; bodice shirred at front and back centre to give full effect; high round neck; short puffy sleeves with drawstring tape at edge; piping at waist, neck, shoulders a arm holes; separate underbodice of heavier cotton with wide neck trimmed with narrow band of lace; short sleeves also trimmed with lace; closes with 6 hoo and button hole loops; skirt gauged to bodice; under-skirt and over-skirt of muslin, the over-skirt having horizontal bands of finer open work lace; over-skirt has two frills, hand-embroidered with flowers and scrolls in pink a purple cottons; hand-sewn throughout.
