Dress of ecru/silk shantung, two pieces:
a) Bodice: high-waisted, slightly bloused bodice with V-neck crossover closure, coated with 7 self-covered buttons; high, square foldover collar with insert 'guipure' lace; attached overskirt of heavily embroidered net and "guipure" lace ; long sleeves, large cuffs with 5 button trim and flounce of pleated chiffon at wrist. To be worn with a fill-in neckpiece.
b) Skirt: tight, straight cut with vertical tucks waist to hem at front left and right back, splaying into rever-like detail with 5 button trim; internal waistband of cotton petersham stiffened with 10 small bones; hook and eye closure in placket.
Machine sewn throughout.
