Dress of white cotton muslin with fine black pinstripe, the bodice lined with cream silk; high waisted, slightly pouched bodice; high neck composed of bands of Val and Beds lace; central bodice panel of whitework-cum-guipure, flanked by pseudo-revers of striped muslin, possibly once had pink-black ribbon trim; back closure with hooks and buttonholed loops; ankle-length skirt, gored and slightly gathered; broad band at hem of muslin running horizontally, marked by inserts of black satin and pink silk ribbon; central panel at this level decorated with 4 black satin-covered buttons.
