Pale blue satin. One piece evening dress.
Bodice: Wide neck, probably worn low on shoulders with narrow silk machine lace trim. Same material folds forming 'V' from shoulders, with central boned sections, converging shoulder to waist, also boned. Bone at each side seam but not back. Low waistline, pointed and trimmed with 6 rows of self piping. Back fastening with hooks and eyelet holes, and draw-tape at neck. Rosette at waist over fastenings. Close fitting short sleeves composed of 3 rows of self pleats trimmed with matching figured ribbon and 2 ribbon rosettes. Lace frill. Bodice and sleeves lined with cotton. Padded near arms to improve bustline.
Skirt: joined to waist with tiny pleats, sewn at each alternate pleat (gauged). Pleats caught again about 2cm down skirt forming section of closely pleated material under waistline. Skirt plain to hem. Lined with stiffened muslin.
