DRESS, Skirt and 2 day Bodice

Dress of rich black silk grosgrain, composed of skirt and 2 day bodice.
[.a] Bodice: body-hugging; small stand-up collar; front closure with 15 button buttons concealed by plastron of pleated white silk attached with hooks and eyes to right side, itself strapped over with a striking arrangement of 3 pair of triangular flaps joined by hooks and eyes; upper bodice trimmed with small flaps of black machine Chantilly lace; caps of same over sleeves; long, tight sleeves trimmed at cuff with band of black lace over fall of white embroidered net; lined with black silk twill; boned with 11 bones; internal tape belt stamped "Lewis & Allenby / Regent St". [.b] Bodice: body-hugging; jacket-style; small stand-up collar; front closure with 17 black silk buttons; psuedo- reve edged with black glass bead tape on one side and black Chantilly lace on the other; half collar of same lace at back neck; ruffle of self fabric around hem small basque at centre back to fan out over bustle; long, tight sleeves decorated with pleated puff at shoulder; bead tape, frill and white embroider net at cuff; lined with black silk twill; boned with 11 bones; internal tape belt stamped as above.
[.c] Skirt: flat, straight front; gathered back for lar bustle; hem of over-skirt shaped with 6 V cut -outs, the whole trimmed with black Chantilly lace; the 2 front Vs topped with bows of self fabric; under-skirt of glazed black cotton has 2 broad layers of grosgrain frills; slight train.
