DRESS, c. 1905 (Bodice & Skirt)

Evening dress of cream figured silk, composed of bodice and skirt:
a) Bodice: wide neck edged with band of swan's down; boned with 6 steels; centre closure with hooks and eyes; gilet front pouched over to attach at shoulder and waist; short sleeves deeply ruched; lined with white cotton twill.
b) Skirt: straight front; deeply gathered back with extra fold for bustle-supported thickness; narrow frill at hem; tape waistband, closes with 2 hooks and eyes.
