DRESS, 1860's (Bodice & Skirt)

Dress of cinnamon brown moire silk, composed of:
a) Bodice: close-fitting, jacket-style; edges and seams piped; small stand-up collar; 11 buttons covered with mustard brown silk satin; small basques at back; long sleeves, cuff trimmed with piping and small frill of mustard satin; lined with striped cotton; internal belt; enlarged by inserting panels under armpits and re-setting sleeves.
b) Skirt: flat front; full, panel-pleated back; 2 eyes to hook onto bodice; pocket at right back seam; back lined with stiffened cotton; hem protector strip of brown wool.
