DRESS, late 1860's-early 1870's (Bodice & Skirt)

Dress of grey silk, composed of bodice and skirt:
a) Bodice: jacket style; high round neck; high waist with wide basques, the hem trimmed with 2 narrow padded bands; front closure with hooks and buttonholed eyes; long sleeves piped at shoulder; lined with brown cotton and inter-lined with cotton wool (?).
b) Skirt: altered and enlarged at waist; straight front, trimmed with horizontal bands of pleating and wide tucks; very full back requiring crinoline; probably worn originally with a draped overskirt; lined with white cotton.
