Wide shallow wood veneered metal cylinder sealed at each end with vellum skins. Cylinder rims braced with rope with leather tabs. By moving the leather tabs on the ropes the tension of the batter head is adjusted. There are three small metal legs attached to one rim of the drum. The circular vent on the side of the drum has a brass gromet. This instrument was used by a member of the Albany Brass Band in Western Australia. Ray Larner, Music Director, WA Bands Assoc., ph: 457 1858 assisted in identification of instruments.
